Write the answers AI wants to quote

⏱ 30 min6 steps

You've answered the same questions a thousand times. Do you come out on weekends? Can I order for Saturday? What do you need from me? You'll turn those answers into a page that people and assistants can quote, write your proof in plain words, and make a checklist so your name, address and phone match everywhere. Have your hours and prices handy. Stuck on one of Claude's questions? Say so, and it will offer choices.

FAQ Short for frequently asked questions. A page of the questions customers ask most, each with a short answer. All wordsAI Short for artificial intelligence. Here it means a program like Claude that reads what you write and writes back in plain words. All words

  1. Find the eight questions customers ask

This has Claude suggest the usual questions for a business like yours, then check them against what you really hear. No answers yet.

    1. Open the or claude.ai and start a new chat.
    2. Copy the prompt below.
Help me write a FAQ page for my business. First, help me pick the eight questions customers ask me most. Suggest the usual ones for a business like mine, then ask me which ones I really hear, one at a time. Don't write any answers yet. My business: [what you do, who for, and where]
    1. Paste it into the chat. Replace the part in square brackets with what you do, who for and where, like dog grooming, mostly for busy families, in Springfield.
    2. Send it, then answer Claude's questions one at a time.
prompt What you type to Claude. A good one says what you want, how to work and what never to do. All wordsClaude app Claude on your phone or computer, where you chat with it by typing. claude.ai is the same thing in a web browser. All words

    You should see:

A list of common questions for a business like yours, then Claude asks you about the first one.

    That's not what I see
Claude asked me about all of them at once.
Type this and send it: One at a time, please. Then answer the first one.
  2. Have Claude draft the answers

Each answer starts with the plain answer in one sentence, because that's the line people and AI assistants lift. Anything only you know gets marked FILL IN, for you to fill.

AI drafts and sorts; a person approves anything with a price, a date or your name on it. On your FAQ page, that person is you.

    1. Copy the prompt below.
Now write an answer for each of the eight questions. Start each one with a one-sentence direct answer, then add two or three sentences of detail, the way I'd say it to a customer on the phone. Where an answer needs a fact only I know, like a price, a day, the area I cover or a license number, don't guess. Write FILL IN and say what goes there.
    1. Paste it into the same chat and send it.

    You should see:

Your eight questions, each with a short answer, and FILL IN wherever one of your facts goes.

    That's not what I see
Claude put in a price or a date I never gave it.
Delete it, and reply: Don't guess any prices, dates or numbers. Mark them FILL IN. A made-up price on your website is a promise you never made.
  3. Fill in your facts

This prompt puts your real facts where the FILL INs are, and checks for any promise you haven't confirmed.

    1. Copy the prompt below.
Here are my facts for each FILL IN, numbered by question. Put them in and don't change anything else. Then list any answer that still promises something I haven't confirmed. My facts: [each fact, with its question number]
    1. Paste it into the same chat. Replace the part in square brackets with your facts, each with its question number, like 1: we come out Saturdays, not Sundays.
    2. Send it.
    3. Read every answer out loud. If it doesn't sound like you, change the words until it does.

    You should see:

The FAQ again with your facts in place, then a short list of anything still unconfirmed, or a line saying there's nothing left.

    That's not what I see

Nobody has reported a snag on this step yet. Getting stuck is normal. Read the step again one line at a time, and compare your screen with the video.

  4. Write your proof in plain words

A license number painted on a van in a photo, or reviews shown only as a picture, are hard for search tools and AI assistants to read. Written out as words, they can read them and quote them. Proof looks different in each line of work: a license and insurance for a contractor, a health inspection score for a bakery, a certification for a bookkeeper. This prompt asks you for yours.

    1. Copy the prompt below.
Help me write a short "Why trust us" section in plain words for my website. Ask me one at a time about the proof I have: licenses or certifications, insurance, any guarantee or warranty, how long I've been doing this, and where my reviews are. Skip anything I don't have. Don't make anything up.
    1. Paste it into the same chat and send it.
    2. Answer Claude's questions. Check every fact in what it writes before you use it.

    You should see:

Claude asks about your proof one thing at a time, then writes a short section from your answers.

    That's not what I see
    I don't have a license or a warranty.
Plenty of businesses don't. Skip it. Years in business, the name of the person who answers the phone, or a clear promise you already keep, like calling back the same day, count too.
  5. Find every place your business is listed

Customers and AI assistants check more than your website: map listings, review sites, directories and social pages. When your name, address or phone differ from one to the next, it's harder to tell they're all you. This prompt lines them up side by side.

    1. Copy the prompt below.
Search the web for my business and list every place you find it: my website, map listings, review sites, directories and social pages. For each one, show the name, address, phone and hours exactly as written there, with the link. Then mark any that don't match my website. My business name and town: [type them]
    1. Paste it into the same chat. Replace the part in square brackets with your business name and town.
    2. Send it.

Claude usually can't read your , Facebook or Yelp pages, so check those yourself.

    You should see:

Claude missed a listing I know about.
Add it yourself. Web search won't find everything.
  6. Turn it into a checklist

This prompt turns the list into something you can check off, one place at a time.

    1. Copy the prompt below.
Turn that into a checklist I can work through. One line per place: what to change so it matches my website, and a box to check. Put the places customers use most at the top. Add a line at the end for putting the FAQ page and the trust section on my website.
    1. Paste it into the same chat and send it.
    2. Copy the FAQ, the trust section and the checklist into one document, named with today's date.

If someone else looks after your website, send them the FAQ and the trust section as they are.

    You should see:

A checklist with one line per place, what to change there, and a box to check.

    That's not what I see

Nobody has reported a snag on this step yet. Getting stuck is normal. Read the step again one line at a time, and compare your screen with the video.
